Getting here
You can find all of the up to date information about how to get here on our ‘contact us’ page – there’s links to directions by car, by bus or train. Krowji is approximately a 1 mile/15 minute walk away from Redruth Railway Station and there are bus stops on both sides of the main road just outside our site. If you’re visiting us on Saturday why not plan a visit to the Redruth Christmas procession too, there’s lots of parking in Redruth town and we are only a ten minute walk away from the centre.
Parking
We are in the middle of our exciting Phase 2 development here at Krowji which means that parking is more limited than usual. If you aren’t travelling by train, foot or bus and will be coming by car then please share lifts with friends and family to help ease parking (and the planet!). We have 4 disabled parking spaces which are marked.
Some free parking is available nearby at Penventon Terrace on Blowinghouse hill or West End Car Park is a convenient and flat 3 minute walk away:
Friday evening after 4pm – free
Mon – Sat 9am – 4pm 24 hours – £2.60
Sunday – free
(Please check car park information boards for exact prices and charge times which are subject to change)
Leave plenty of time
There are 66 studios to get around – so make sure you leave plenty of time, nobody likes having to see art in a rush! We’ve laid out an orange tape trail to help you find your way around, pick up a map to help!
Family-friendly
Krowji Christmas Open Studios is a free and family-friendly event, although there aren’t any activities for children those with curious minds and creative spirits might enjoy the festive feel of the weekend and the artwork on display.
Well-behaved dogs
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to the site and in the cafe. Most of the studios taking part will welcome dogs on leads too but worth checking first as you enter.
Stop off for Refreshments
Visiting the studios can be thirsty work so make sure you plan a cafe stop along the way, the Nook cafe at Krowji will be open on Friday evening for mulled wine, mince pies and other tasty treats and then over the weekend for delicious food and great-tasting coffee.
Ask Questions
The contact details of the artists taking part are on our website so if you’ve got any questions about a particular artwork after your visit, you can get in touch with them directly.
Bring Cash
Although lots of the artists and makers accept card payments not all of them do (sometimes the wi-fi doesn’t stretch!) so remember to bring cash just in case you find a piece of work you fall in love with and can’t bear to leave behind
Keep in Touch
Pick up the artist’s business card for future contact. If a certain someone doesn’t pick up your Christmas list hints business cards left around the house can be a useful reminder…
Spread the Word
Don’t forget to complete a visitor feedback form, tell your friends and share your photos on social media #krowjiopenstudios
