Step into the vibrant heart of Cornwall’s leading creative hub this autumn as Krowji throws open its doors for a special two-day celebration of art, culture and creativity.

The Krowji Showcase invites you behind the scenes to explore the studios of our talented resident artists, makers and creative businesses. Discover where ideas take shape, meet the people behind the work, and experience first-hand the creativity that makes Krowji such a unique and inspiring place.

Across the two days, enjoy a lively programme of Fun Palaces activities, music, live art and creative experiences, celebrating the diversity, talent and innovation across the Krowji community.

Whether you’re a curious first-time visitor, a creative practitioner, an art lover, or simply looking for a wonderful family day out, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Abstract Designs by KT is the creative practice of Katie Hatherly, whose vibrant mixed media artworks are inspired by the landscapes and colours that surround her. From the Cornish coastline and woodland walks to gardens overflowing with seasonal blooms, the natural world provides a constant source of inspiration and a starting point for exploration.
Art-K West Cornwall
Art-K West Cornwall provides inspiring artist-led classes for children, young people and adults. Through drawing, painting and hands-on making, the studio nurtures creativity, confidence and a lifelong enjoyment of visual art.
Artistree
Artistree combines painting and textiles in a colourful practice that moves between surface, stitch and image. Discover work shaped by experimentation, creativity and a joyful engagement with colour and materials.
Bryony Ella
Working across painting, performance and sculpture, Bryony Ella creates thoughtful projects that bring together research, storytelling and environmental enquiry. Visit to discover work that encourages reflection on our relationship with the natural world and the systems that shape it.
Cornish Inks
Cornish Inks transforms plants, earth pigments and natural materials into beautiful handmade colours. Through pigment-making and creative experimentation, Elizabeth Tomos reveals the processes behind the inks and dyes that connect art with landscape.
Discover Still
Paul Sanders is a photographer, author and educator whose work encourages a slower, more considered approach to photography and the world around us. Through Still, he shares mindful photography practices that place observation, connection and creativity above technical perfection.
Ellie Williams
Ellie Williams combines painting and printmaking to create work rooted in landscape and place. Through layered processes and an engagement with colour and texture, she explores the environments that shape our experience.
Emerson Gaudin
Emerson is an emerging ceramicist from Jersey, now based in Cornwall, working primarily with wheel-thrown porcelain. Drawn to the material's demanding nature, they are particularly interested in the qualities that make porcelain distinctive: its brilliant whiteness, smooth surfaces and delicate translucency.
Fijke Middendorp
Drawing and printmaking sit at the heart of Fijke Middendorp's practice. Through close observation and sensitive mark-making, she captures the details, patterns and character of the natural world.
Holly Cecilia Smith
Through painting and observation, Holly Cecilia Smith explores the landscapes we inhabit and the journeys we make within them. Her work reflects on place, memory and movement, encouraging visitors to slow down and look more closely.
Julia Chapman
Julia Chapman is a painter whose work reflects a close engagement with landscape, atmosphere and the changing qualities of light. Through a sensitive use of colour and mark-making, she develops paintings that capture the character and mood of the places she encounters. Her practice is grounded in observation while leaving space for interpretation and emotional response. Layers of paint, texture and subtle tonal shifts create works that balance representation with atmosphere, encouraging a deeper engagement with the landscape.
Kate Aimers
Kate Aimers of Grow & Bloom Studios creates ceramics and illustrations inspired by nature, wildlife and everyday moments. Full of colour, character and observation, her work celebrates the beauty found in gardens, seasons and the world around us.
LORES
Lores is the jewellery brand of award-winning goldsmith and gemmologist Lorna McNaught, whose work combines meticulous craftsmanship with a lifelong fascination for nature and science. As a jewellery designer, maker, gemmologist and diamond grader, she brings both creative and technical expertise to every piece, balancing careful observation with exceptional attention to detail.
Lucas Ruth Leather Goods
Lucas Ruth Leather Goods creates handcrafted leather pieces designed for everyday use and lasting value. Combining traditional leatherworking skills with an appreciation for simplicity and functionality, the studio produces goods that celebrate the character and durability of natural materials. Each piece is carefully made, with attention given to construction, finish and the way an object will age over time. Rather than following trends, the practice focuses on thoughtful design and enduring craftsmanship, creating items intended to be used, repaired and appreciated for years to come.
Milly Wakelin
Textile artist Milly Wakelin works with wool, natural dyes and traditional craft techniques to create tactile pieces rooted in place and process. Discover weaving, felting, upcycled fashion and beautifully considered work shaped by a deep connection to the natural world.
Nicola Bottono Silversmith & Jeweller
Inspired by Cornwall's landscape and crafted with exceptional skill, Nicola Bottono creates jewellery and silverware that combine beauty, function and intricate detail. Discover pieces that celebrate the possibilities of traditional silversmithing within a contemporary practice.
Rebecca Ball
Rebecca Ball is a textile artist and maker whose work explores the expressive possibilities of cloth, stitch and surface. Drawing on traditional textile techniques alongside contemporary making processes, she creates pieces that celebrate texture, detail and the narratives that emerge through handcraft. Her practice is rooted in careful observation and experimentation with materials, combining construction, embellishment and a strong sensitivity to tactility. Whether working on decorative textiles, stitched artworks or crafted objects, she approaches each piece with an attention to process and material character.
Shallal Studios
Shallal Studios brings together a diverse community of artists working across painting, mixed media and more. Their work celebrates creativity, inclusion and the power of art to connect people, share experiences and create new opportunities for expression.
Studio Lowen
Studio Lowen brings together textiles and jewellery within a thoughtful, material-led practice. Created with care and an emphasis on quality craftsmanship, each piece reflects a contemporary approach to making that values longevity, detail and beautifully considered design.
Sue Leake
Drawing and painting form the basis of Sue Leake's creative practice. Through observation, colour and expressive mark-making, she develops work that reflects a continuing fascination with seeing and recording the world around her.
Tanya Krzywinska
Working across painting and sculpture, Tanya Krzywinska explores the relationship between surface, form and material. Her work invites viewers to consider how artworks can move between image, object and space.

Cornish Books
Pop-Up Stories with Cornish Books: Come and explore a collection of interactive illustrations inspired by storytelling, where every artwork includes a pop-up element, a bit like a giant pop-up book. Have a go at creating your own pop-up designs and bring stories to life through movement. You can also make a flapping butterfly from a wooden peg, and add to a community display or take it home with you.
Kerry Day & Shallal Studios
Take part in making large collaborative artworks inspired by movement, flying and freedom, using music, mark-making and colour. One piece will be black and white, the other full of colour, with everyone invited to add their own marks and ideas. If you had wings, what would they look like? Add to a giant collaborative painting and help fill the canvas with feathers, patterns, colours and imagination!
Milly Wakelin - Artist
Seaweed Sea Goddess with Milly Wakelin: Using seaweed and other natural materials, we'll create a collaborative collage inspired by mermaids, sea creatures and coastal folklore. Seaweed is wonderfully tactile, a bit slimy and often surprisingly fun to work with once you've got past the initial squeamishness. Come and add a strand of seaweed, a pattern, a detail or a flourish to help bring the sea goddess to life.
Nicola Bottonno
Flame Painting with Nicola Bottono: Try your hand at shaping and decorating copper with with jeweller and silversmith Nicola Bottono. Using simple techniques, you'll form a small copper square and then use a flame to create beautiful colours and patterns on the surface.
Wild Words & Forms
Nature Poetry with Wild Word & Forms: A chance to play with words, colour and nature. Using Blackout Poetry and Cut-Up Poetry techniques, we'll transform existing text into new poems inspired by the natural world. There will also be watercolour and ink to experiment with, so you can combine writing and image-making in whatever way you choose.

Andrew Bryant
Andrew Bryant is an artist and mentor based in Cornwall, UK. A former editor for a-n and Tate Online, he holds an MFA from Goldsmiths College and was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize in 2022 and 2026. Informed by psychoanalysis, posthumanism and climate change, his work explores how surface and materiality shape perception, exposing and obscuring deeper structures.
Bkaha Ceramics
Bkaha Ceramics is the work of Cornish ceramicist Rebecca Brattin. Originally trained in textile design, Rebecca brings a strong interest in surface pattern and texture to her ceramic practice, applying the same attention to detail she developed through working with fabric to the medium of clay. More recently, Rebecca undertook training in early medieval archaeology, bringing together her interests in history, human stories and making. These influences inform a body of work that combines fine detail with a fascination for the objects, patterns and narratives that connect us to the past. Her ceramic pieces are individually made and reflect an approach rooted in research, observation and craftsmanship.
Emily Kate Henshall
Emily Kate Henshall is a multimedia illustrator and artist who creates beautifully designed products, ranging from greetings cards and art prints, to acrylic 3D mobiles, ceramics, and stationery. Deeply inspired by British wildlife and the natural world, her work is richly adorned with vibrant flora and fauna drawn from both memory and imagination.
Julia Crimmen Ceramics
Working from her garden studio in Cornwall, Julia Crimmen creates wheel-thrown stoneware ceramics designed for everyday use. Her interest in ceramics began during a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Falmouth University, where a collection of embossed vessels sparked a lasting fascination with clay and ceramic processes. Inspired by the Cornish coast and surrounding hedgerows, Julia creates functional ceramics featuring layered pattern and texture. Using stencils, wax resist techniques and glossy glazes, she develops decorative surfaces that enhance each form. Alongside her stoneware vessels, Julia also creates small animal sculptures with distinctive character and detail.
Kosel Candles
Kosel is Cornish for calm — and that little word has become the heart of everything I create. I make candles and home fragrance inspired by the quiet rituals woven into our everyday lives; the moments we take to pause, breathe, reset and come back to ourselves. For me, it’s never been just about making something that smells beautiful. It’s about creating a little pocket of time. A flickering flame at the end of a long day.
Lou Tonkin
Lou Tonkin is a printmaker producing lino cut prints & homewares which are inspired almost exclusively by nature, our community & the beautiful environment she is surrounded by in her home county of Cornwall near Falmouth & is a quiet celebration of her rural adventures.
Matthew Thomason Music
Matthew Thomason is a composer, pianist and musical director based in Cornwall, whose work spans classical music, film, theatre and video games. He has become particularly known for his pioneering exploration of the Cornish language within contemporary classical music, most notably through Arlodhes a Shalott, his Cornish-language setting of Tennyson’s The Lady of Shalott, created with translator Elizabeth Ellis.
Rikke Digerud Art
Norwegian artist Rikke Digerud works from her studio in Wadebridge, creating mixed media artworks, jewellery and textile pieces. Her practice draws on the landscapes, colours and visual culture of Norway, alongside influences gathered through living in Britain and regular visits to Australia. Colour, pattern and design form the foundation of her work. Handmade decorative papers and embellishments are combined through collage to create layered compositions that explore texture, rhythm and the relationships between shape and surface. Alongside framed original artworks, Rikke creates miniature artworks as earrings and embellished textile pouches using vintage fabrics. Her earrings are stocked by Tate St Ives, where she also works as a gallery assistant.
Saskia Silver Designs
Saskia McLean is a Cornwall-based artist and jewellery maker, creating colourful artwork and hand-crafted silver pieces inspired by the coast, wildlife and natural beauty of Cornwall. A Falmouth University Textile Design graduate, Saskia’s work is full of colour, intricate detail and playful patterns.
Sharon Bruster
Sharon is a coastal artist in Padstow. Her practice includes painting, drawing and printmaking as well as cameraless photography. Daily walks on her local beaches and coastpaths inspire her expressive and abstract work.
