Alasdair’s paintings are based on places he sees everyday and are often inspired by aerial perspectives of landscapes. While some scenes are sketched on site, Alasdair usually paints from memory and through experimentation with the subject often becoming secondary to the emerging pattern of vibrantly-colourised abstract areas. He continues to be inspired by both Cornwall’s coastal shorelines and cityscapes.
Cornwall Contemporary is open Monday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm. You can also view a 3D virtual tour of Alasdair’s exhibition here.
