Learn about anatomical structure and proportions, space and perspective, light and shade, colour and tone, line and form in relation to the human body and condition.
Varying aspects of drawing the nude figure addressed throughout the sessions on an individual and group basis as required.

Sessions are organised into hourly sections of quick, medium and then a longer pose so when teaching about particular issues this may vary slightly.

Portraiture Course taught by SWAc 2020 winner Tracey Miles BA PGCE.
Monday mornings 10-1pm
£150 payable termly, cost includes a model. 6 sessions a term.
This course provides students with a thorough grounding in considerations of depicting the human face accurately and the human condition empathetically. During the first term students will have classes on facial structure and anatomy, proportions and perspective, light and shade, colour values and theory, contour and gesture drawing, mark making and visual language. Within each session I give practical and technical information, examples from myself and other artists, do demonstrations and then give time to apply this new knowledge and understanding during students own practice with the model.
The second term builds on the first to include use of a variety of media but with a similar structure. The final term revisits some aspects from the previous terms along with personal and vital considerations for contemporary portraiture.
