The enigmatic world of Bill’s Attic

There is something quietly incredible happening on the second floor of the Old Grammar School building at Krowji. Climb the wide worn steps up to that space, and as you walk in, it quickly dawns on you the fact that you are now a whole world away from your own. Bill’s Attic is the manifestation of the project to capture, catalogue, and harness the peaks, depths and expanse of the creative process of Bill Mitchell.

FEAST and their partners have relocated the entire contents of Bill’s workspace from his attic to this remarkable space. Artists are invited to spend weeks at a time here exploring their own creative process, leveraging the obscure collections, the eclectic posters, the odd memories of past pop culture, and the future contributions of work left by other visiting creatives. With a large table and bright workspace alongside the labyrinth of treasures, here exists a unique opportunity to examine how you work, and here, it seems entirely natural to do so.

Furthermore, the need to physically be in Bill’s Attic is actually not necessary to engage with the experience. The team have undertaken the daunting challenge of digitizing the resources, and delivered something equally enthralling. This not simply photographing the contents, you can actually enter Bill’s original attic space through a captivating 3D model. It may take a little while to load on your PC, but it is worth the wait. Prepare to get lost for some time clicking through the shelves and down the little corridors to find the next piece of gold.

Come and see this place, find out what it would mean to you. It is simply unlike anywhere else, except for Bill’s Attic.
