During the visit the Countess met with Krowji’s artist and maker studio-holders and was presented with a gift by Amanda Maltwood of MAMM + MYRGH Goldsmiths. It was a tricky decision selecting a piece from their collection but MAMM + MYRGH had done their research to ensure it was well-received “after researching the Countess’s personal style we noticed her preference towards classic and stylish pieces, often in silver, so thought that the understated Pod Pendant could suit plenty of occasions.”
The very classic and subtle Pod Pendant is crafted in Sterling Silver and was inspired by seaweed sculptures found along the rugged coastline of Mounts Bay. The pods are set with blue green Chalcedony and hand finished in a matt suede silver polish.
Greta Kaniok of MAMM + MYRGH says “The idea behind this necklace is that you can personalise your look by collecting different Seaweed pod components, plain pods sit next to coloured Gemstone Pods or they can be worn alone for a more minimal look.”
MAMM + MYRGH Goldsmiths is a mother and daughter team of Goldsmiths based at Krowji who mindfully design and make contemporary Jewellery. MAMM is mother Amanda Maltwood, an experienced Goldsmith with over 30 years’ experience as a jobbing Jeweller while MYRGH is daughter Greta Kaniok, a freelance Jewellery Designer with expertise in CAD design; together they combine traditional Goldsmithing skills with the latest advancements in design technology.
It is hoped that the Pod Pendant, commissioned by Krowji and created by MAMM + MYRGH will serve as a small, handcrafted memento for the Countess of her trip to Cornwall’s largest creative hub.
