Become an ‘Agent 4 Change’ and help redevelop Redruth

Trifle Gathering Productions wants Redruth locals aged between 11-25 to join them as an Agent 4 Change in an exciting redevelopment venture.

Redruth has been awarded up to £1.68m by Historic England for town regeneration, and Cornish comedy theatre company Trifle Gathering Productions wants the next generation of Redruth’s homeowners, business owners, workers, creatives and citizens to have a say in the town’s future.

Young people aged between 11-25 are invited to rummage through the past, research the present, and re-imagine the future through a series of creative workshops run by Trifle Gathering and Redruth rappers Hedluv + Passman. Ideas generated by Agents 4 Change will become part of the bedrock of the ‘master plan’ to decide how funds will be allocated.

12 ‘Agents’ will be chosen to join in on one of the most exciting urban developments in Cornwall.  Visions for what Redruth could look like in the future might include bringing magical art installations into the town centre which make people gasp, innovative eco infrastructure to make the town environmentally greener, or recreation areas like a the sports court, concert hall or skate park that teenagers and young adults have needed all along.

Eligible applicants should send an expression of interest to [email protected] by midnight on Wednesday 25th November. This involves writing a paragraph on ‘Your one dream vision for Redruth’ and applicants are invited to dream big!

The project is the first step towards a larger cultural programme for Redruth, delivered as part of the Redruth High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) initiative. Funders of the project are Historic England, Cornwall Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Supported by FEAST and the High Street Heritage Action Zones.
