Each: The Poly, Falmouth

Running from June 6th – June 10th at The Poly, this Exhibition brings together two artists Ella Carty and Hideki Arichi who are interested in exploring subjective ways of seeing.

Both artists have exhibited together before and share each others aesthetic sensibility and working methods. Each artist brings a trust in intuition as well as a curiosity to explore our surroundings and how we see ourselves in those surroundings.

Ella Carty based here at Krowji,  was born in Kenya but has lived most her life in the UK living in Oxford, London and Hertfordshire. She now lives in Penryn and works from her studio at Krowji in Redruth. Her paintings are concerned with sensation and expression, often reflecting upon remembered feelings, people or places. Her work describes a process of perception, discovery and regeneration.

Hideki Arichi is a British born Japanese artist working with painting, drawing, printmaking and recently ceramics. Taking his cues from both natural and urban environments as well as Western Art History and Japanese aesthetics, he studies both high and low culture when considering his approach to his work.  He has taken part in residencies in Iceland as well as travelled on numerous occasions to Japan.
