Millie Wilkins – Royal Society of Portrait Painters Drawing Prize Exhibition

The RP Drawing Prize Exhibition 2025 – Revealing the Human
“I drew this self-portrait one Winter’s afternoon while I was having a go at mono-printing. I had been drawing plants, objects, and scenes in mum’s potting shed, but went back inside once it got too cold. The self-portrait was drawn over ghost layers of some of the previous images, and the roller I was using left distinguishable lines all over it. The way the portrait looks fractured is reflective of how I was feeling around that time – it was like looking in a multi-dimensional mirror as I peeled it off the glass.”
