Welcome to Resonance, an exhibition born of two artists’ long-standing friendship, beginning in childhood.
Our show is part of Shallal’s exhibition series Better Together, celebrating artists who have connected over the years through Shallal.
Having grown up dancing and performing together in Shallal, we share and have always connected over an embodied creative language.
In preparing the work for this exhibition, it has been a joy to witness the resonance arising in tandem with one another’s practices, inspiring the title of this exhibition.
In conversation together over the past months, words and phrases have frequently been spoken that feel of significance:
‘the tenderness of unknowingness
that which is known in the body, held in feeling, without words
fleeting moments of meeting,
heightened awareness of gesture, the consideration of breath, pulse
and the space you occupy’
