Krowji are extremely excited to announce that we will be hosting the Tormentors for this year’s Hellfire Kernow event run by Golden Tree Productions!
What is Hellfire Kernow?
Hellfire Kernow is a brilliant culmination of sport and performance, it is an annual festival celebrating Redruth and its patron, Saint Euny. The festival day itself, 1st May, involves four Kryws meeting in the centre of Redruth’s Fore Street crossroads, leading to a spectacular procession of the Kryws through the town to Redruth Rugby Club, ready for the Hellfire Hurl.
What are Kryws?
Where you live determines which Hellfire Kryw you’re part of, and which team you might like to support on Monday 1st May. The divisions are based on the medieval keverangow (‘hundreds’) of Cornwall and centered on the crossroads at the bottom of Redruth Fore Street. The Kryws are: Angels
, Demons
, Saints
and Tormentors
.
Once you know your Kryw, you can decide which free drop-in workshops to join in with, if you fancy getting involved with making a flag, constructing a costume or any other creative fun!
