Drop-In Consultation Event
Thursday 20th October 2-6pm, Stones Krowji Café
This is an opportunity for all those working in the creative industries in Cornwall to come and talk to us at Krowji and feed into our future plans.
Whilst negotiations with our insurers are still ongoing following the devastating fire in May 2021, we are now able to start making plans for the replacement studios. The primary focus for this consultation process will be the studios themselves and consolidating our key priorities based on demand. However, Krowji is more than just a space, it is a community, and we want to take this opportunity to open up discussions about how we can further strengthen our offer as a studio provider.
All thoughts and ideas will be written up and shared with those who opt into our mailing list at the event.
Who this is for:
All individuals and businesses working in the creative and cultural sector in Cornwall with a focus on:
– Current and prospective tenants, including students
– Those whose creative practices and businesses are currently underrepresented at Krowji
– Creative individuals and businesses interested in other services e.g. business advice, residencies, collaboration and networking opportunities, room hire, desk rental etc.
The New Studios
Based on our key priorities it has been decided that the new studios will be modular buildings or containers.
Our main aims are to:
– Design studios which will be suitable for those creative practices currently underrepresented at Krowji
– Increase accessibility both physically and financially
– Provide more self-contained studios
– Incorporate communal areas into the design to increase opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and collaboration
– Enhance our strengths in environmental sustainability
How to get involved:
Drop-in consultation event
– 2-6pm 20th October in the café
– A casual social event with oodles of cake and the opportunity to meet some of our Creative Kernow colleagues who will be helping us to facilitate discussions
– You can expect to see mood boards, large pieces of paper, colourful pens, digital sketching, 3D design tools/toys such as Megablocks or Lego, breakout spaces and hopefully lots of people
– We will be looking at Krowji past, present and future
– You don’t need to have ideas before you come, you’re welcome to turn up simply to find out more or just use it as an excuse to meet some fellow creatives
