I offer the following types of workshops that take place in my studio or the Art Room at Krowji:
Introductory taster session
Designed for beginners, or people who have never tried oils before (usually taking place in the morning). It is a one off introduction to oil painting where I go through some of the materials and equipment used in oil painting. I also do a short demo and we then start painting. I will provide materials (not canvas or boards) for this session.
Morning or afternoon workshop
This is a workshop where we paint using different techniques applicable to oils. I start with a short demo and then participants begin painting their chosen subject using the techniques demonstrated. You will need to bring your own materials although I have mediums etc that we can use.
All day workshop
A more concentrated session where we work on two paintings through the day, trying different alla prima techniques to achieve our goals. Please bring your own materials, canvas or boards for this.
4 week course
Usually in the mornings this is a regular workshop spread over 4 weekly sessions. A discount is applied for booking this. This regular workshop gives the same participants chance to explore different ways of painting in oils over 4 sessions. We can work on a larger painting alongside smaller ones as there will be sufficient time for drying between sessions.
All details available on my website – I hope to do plein air oil painting workshops in the Spring / Summer – contact me for details.
Materials: Participants will need to bring their own materials. A small supply of materials will be provided for the introductory taster workshops.
