Stephanie Sandercock’s paintings hold a trace of ancient magic, as if infused with the energy of the Cornish coastal rock she feels deeply connected to. Walks along the rugged coastline and surrounding countryside provide endless inspiration, with the colours, shapes and textures of nature influencing the emotion she pours into each piece. Her paintings are highly tactile, inviting viewers to explore intricate details and layered surfaces.

Working with limestone and marble plaster, acrylic and ground rock, Sandercock creates paintings that shimmer with depth and light. Natural muscovite mica, often incorporated into her work, catches the light beautifully like sunlight on waves or a seam of quartz hidden in stone.

Sandercock’s work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is collected both in the UK and internationally. Her paintings can be found at the Penwith Gallery and St. Ives Society.
