Hannah Sharples
Illustration, Children’s author and illustrator, Mixed Media and Ceramics
Hannah has a keen interest in nature and the natural world and her whimsical art demonstrates this. From the wide-eyed wonder of children shrunk in fantastical gardens, to Darwin’s laboratory full of test tubes and creepy crawlies, there is excitement and magic in every picture.

Her travels have influenced a lot of her artwork, and her forthcoming children’s book, ‘Amiko: Child of the Sea’, in which a young girl visits some far-flung destinations. Her book illustrations cover modern issues like eco-tourism and the challenges facing the natural world in a fun and engaging way whilst concentrating on what animals can teach us, taking you on a journey around the world with nature spirit guides in a magical colourful way.
Hannah sells her range of greetings cards and prints in a number of small galleries and gift shops in Bristol, Devon and Cornwall, she also works as a support worker with people with autism and is keen to explore the benefits of art therapy with people with disabilities, promoting well being and self esteem through the creative process.
Hannah works with clay, watercolour, pen, ink, coloured pencils, acrylic, collage and oils.
