Kim Pilgrim

I create images using paint, photos, collage, drawing… whatever is appropriate at the time. I often work on a small scale; postage stamp sized seascapes, painting birds on train tickets … I enjoy creating different ways of viewing images and of seeing the artwork as an object with stories to tell.

Relationships to nature and the passing of time are key features of my work, alongside concepts of travel and exploring a sense of place.

Making is a meditative process for me. It connects me back to myself, as well as to the natural world surrounding me. My hope is that my work encourages people to reconnect with nature around them, even for the briefest of moments.

Alongside my personal practice I also have over 15 years experience in arts education and running creative arts events and workshops, including for Tate St Ives and Storylines CIC.
