Jacqueline Clark
I’m Jacqueline Clark and I make thrown and hand-built ceramic work informed by the Cornish landscape, particularly the creek where I live in Devoran. My work explores the seen and unseen of Cornwall’s coast – from the subtle beauty of high-water vistas to the reality of its scarred industrial past.
I make tableware for everyday use and sculptural collections of one-off pieces including boats and large vessels mainly from white stoneware clay from St Agnes. My aesthetic is inspired by a study of the Asian ceramic tradition, particularly Japan, which resonates with the calm, quiet waters of the Cornish creeks.
I run half day, one day and three day throwing courses throughout the year – please email me or see my website for details and how to book.
I sell my work through galleries and online via my website, but I would love to meet customers at my studio too. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a visit.
