Helen Trevaskis is a writer and illustrator who designs and runs creative projects that often focus on the harder bits of being human. Recent projects include:
Hope for Cornwall. A picture book telling the story of Cornwall’s housing crisis with fairness, reality and optimism. The book was researched, written and illustrated by Helen for Homes for Cornwall CIC.
People. Project Cornwall. A commission by Cornish charity St Petrocs designed to challenge stigma and stereotypes around homelessness, which helped inspire an innovative collaboration with Prince William’s Homeward organisation.
Site-specific artworks including for The Writers Block and Flushing Sailing Club.
Helen takes an active interest in the arts and social change and was named one of 50 Women of Cornwall for the work her arts and homelessness project StreetDraw24 did. She moonlights as a news reviewer on Radio Cornwall and is currently writing a first short story collection entitled, ‘Tales of Longing and Loss’.
