Michelle Redmore
Michelle Redmore draws inspiration for her artwork from animals and the natural world, creating awareness of these incredible species that we share our world with and the need to protect them. She has a strong passion for animal welfare and an interest in the connection between the human/animal relationship.
Michelle graduated in 2023 and has won awards in the SAA Artist of the Year competition for two consecutive years with two of her artworks.
‘Charcoal and pencil are my chosen materials to work with, as I like how they are a natural compound providing a broad tonal range. By using light and dark shades to create depth and form, minimalism and a sense of simplicity. Black and white generates strong emotions and has a timeless quality, which I find intriguing and I like to bring a sense of an emotional connection to each animal in my artworks.
Animals have always been a predominant part of my life and being able to draw them makes me feel closer to our natural world. I also hope my artwork inspires and encourages others to get involved in helping with wildlife conservation.’
