Joanne Reed

My paintings are more often than not of human beings within nature and the landscape. I work in a variety of drawing and painting mediums but predominantly oil painting. Sometimes working from life, making observational studies but I also use photography, film and other found images as basis for my work.

Most of my work is based on Cornish landscape and that of the Caribbean where I have spent most of my time and have a strong connection to both places. The scale of my work is always varied from large canvasses to small works on paper. I have a first degree in contemporary creative practice and am also involved in doing design work and painting and creative workshops.
